Things to note when setting the password for the Academic Information System

I. Avoid writing your account and password on paper and posting it where it can be easily seen (e.g. writing your personal account and password on a post-it and posting on the computer monitor).
II. Change your password immediately if you suspect that your password may have been cracked or stolen.
III. After installation of application software, change the password from the default set by the software.
IV. After logging in for the first time, users should change the temporary (first use) password.
V. The password should be strong. The following are some principles for setting a strong password:
‧ The password should be at least 6 characters long.
‧ The password can be a mix of alphanumeric characters, special characters, and uppercase and lowercase letters.
‧The password should not have any obvious meaning.
VI. Do not give your personal account or password to anyone.
VII. Do not use unauthorized accounts and passwords.
VIII. Change your password on a regular basis (e.g. every month, quarter, or six months etc).
